Kleenpak invested in SalesLink Mobile and equipped
their salespeople with Symbol handheld
Computers equipped with laser barcode readers so they
could take orders electronically, improving speed and
accuracy. These communicate with head office via
Kyocera cell phones running on the Telecom CDMA
Mobile Jetstream network.
Minutes after the order has been taken out in the field, it
arrives at the SalesLink Server and is transferred
automatically to their Accredo Mercury accounting
software. Picking slips and invoices can be produced
immediately, and goods can be packed and out the door
sometimes within half an hour of the order being taken.

Whangarei than incumbent suppliers, resident in those
locations, all from their lifestyle location near Paihia.
In fact, the combination of speedy service, with reduced paperwork and increased accuracy and efficiency resulted
in Kleenpak winning the Telecom Excellence in
Technology Award (Northland Chamber of Commerce
Westpac Business Excellence Awards) In 2003. |
